Operation Fund Drive in Progress
The Ripley County Community Foundation does much good within our county. With the downturn in the economy, operating funds are in short demand.
The Board of Directors is responsible for the fiscal health of the Foundation - a job they take very seriously. The budget for 2009 has been cut by $66,442 - almost 1/3. In order to make the reductions needed the following adjustments were made: No raises for staff. Hours have been cut for all part-time employees.
Reduced advertising by 1/2.
Reduced mailings (newsletter published twice a year instead of quarterly, more information sent out by email rather than snail mail)
Annual report was put online.
No meeting expenses.
No conferences
Reduced and eliminated events.
Our operating money comes from several sources:
Our endowment is of less value than in 2008 so our administrative fees are less.
Gifts (which are way down)
Interest on the account
Special event income
In the effort to make up the needed operating funds, the Board of Directors and other friends of the Foundation are contacting businesses and individuals in Ripley County asking for much needed donations to the operating fund.
